We think Pilates is a really valuable form of exercise and after attending various classes over the years we are very glad to have found Ruth’s class.
Ruth has a good understanding of the human body and Pilates principles and takes care to design each week’s exercises around the needs and abilities of that class. She is very friendly and good humoured. She explains each exercise clearly, with a basic level and then higher levels for those who are ready to progress. We like the way she keeps a constant eye on the class and is quick to help anyone who is struggling or not doing an exercise correctly, but always in a supportive way. She will also adapt an exercise for those with joint problems etc. You leave the class having done a good Pilates session and with a smile on your face.
Ruth’s Pilates sessions are the perfect complement to our existing physical therapy programme at Avondale Care Home. Her Pilates exercises are adaptable for our chair-seated residents and her warm personality and friendly teaching style has made her classes popular and well attended. My Pilates sessions have been so beneficial. I've had multiple sclerosis for many years. I feel so much more balanced since doing Pilates sessions for the last 6 weeks. It's really been a life changer for me. My confidence has grown and I will definitely continue with Pilates exercise for sure. I feel stronger and more aware of my body frame and conscious of my core and it has made such a difference with my balance and walking. I thought my body was aligned (according to my mind) but I learnt to address this with Ruth's expertise.
